Don’t think you have enough space to grow vegetables and flowers? Join Kathy Jentz, author, editor, and gardener for “Small Space Garden Design – Squeezing it all into your Urban Garden” a virtual talk presented by Ozaukee Master Gardeners on Thursday, September 22 at 7 pm. Jentz, who specializes in small space and urban gardening, takes a do-it-yourself, hands-in-the-dirt approach that emphasizes practical advice while not ignoring the fun and humor of learning from past mistakes. Her presentation will concentrate on “creating tiny, jewel boxes of perfections” using clever methods for intensely gardening in tight areas, maximizing growing spaces, and making the most of the benefits of raising plants in confined boundaries. Kathy Jentz with co-author Teri Speight recently published “The Urban Garden: 101 Ways to Grow Food and Beauty in the City”. Jentz is editor and publisher of Washington Gardener Magazine and hosts the popular GardenDC podcast. She is also the editor of the Water Garden Journal, for the International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society; The Azalean, for the Azalea Society of America; and Fanfare, for Region 3 of the American Daylily Society. Her mission is to turn black thumbs green. A life-long gardener, Jentz believes that growing plants should be stress-free and enjoyable. Her philosophy is inspiration over perspiration.
